With Republicans doing everything they can to prevent people from voting, the Florida Democratic Party is fielding not just a full slate of candidates but preparing to do everything it can to make sure that people are able to vote. And to accomplish that, we need volunteers to learn how to be poll watchers in the program we call Voter Protection. This need is immediate – the primary early voting days are coming soon. The Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus will hold a virtual membership meeting this month (July 2024) to endorse candidates in the August Primary. The exact meeting date and time will be announced in an e-mail to members. After the primary we’ll announce endorsements in the general election.
Caucus officers — President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer will be elected in early 2025.
There is never a cost to attend the membership meetings!
Pursuant to the Election Procedures, candidates who are nominated will be invited to submit a photograph and a candidate biography, statement and/or platform of not more than 300 words. A listing of the announced candidates and their bios/statements are available for review on the Caucus website. Additional nominations for officers may be made from the floor at the meeting by a voting member.
