The Florida LGBTA Democratic Caucus stands with our African American brothers and sisters in celebrating the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. From his lifelong dedication to fighting for civil rights for all Americans alongside the openly gay Bayard Rustin to his family’s later support for LGBT equality, we express our gratitude for his lifetime of work and service in the name of fairness for all.  We also strongly applaud his dedication to non-violent methods to bring about this change.

We encourage all Americans to reflect on the meaning of his life and to work towards equality in all aspects of American life.
