The Florida Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) Democratic Caucus joins our Transgender friends as we celebrate the Transgender Day of Remembrance today. This day has historically been used to bring attention to violence and hate crimes that our Transgender friends experience, and we remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice just for being who they are.

Today we also want to focus on the importance of achieving equality. The Florida GLBT Caucus is guided by the principle that no one in our community is left behind. This is illustrated in Employment Non -Discrimination Act (ENDA), that fully includes all members of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, that was passed by the U.S. Senate, with the full support of Senator Bill Nelson (FL – D).
