Members of the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus elected their leadership for the next two years at the Biennial Organization Membership Meeting on Saturday, March 15. Results include:
• Kristen Browde was elected to a full term as president. Browde was elevated from Vice President to President last July when her predecessor, Nathan Bruemmer, resigned in order to run for state legislature. Browde also serves as Treasurer of the Miami-Dade Democratic Executive Committee (DEC). She is the first transgender woman to hold the title of President of the LGBTQ+ Caucus.
• Luis Salazar was elected to a full term as Vice President. Salazar was appointed Vice President by Kristen Browde when she vacated the seat to become president. Salazar also serves a president of the Hillsborough County LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus and is a state committeeman for Hillsborough County.
• Jeff Nall was elected to a full term as Treasurer. Nall was appointed by Browde last winter to fill the vacant position. Nall also serves as president of Emerald Coast Equality in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.
• Dave Cutler was elected to a full term as Secretary, a position he has held several times. Cutler was appointed as Secretary last year to fill the vacant position. He also serves as Secretary of the Hillsborough County LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus and as a state committeeman for Hillsborough County.
Members also voted for the Caucus to join the National Federation of Stonewall Democrats, an organization of Democratic LGBTQ+ organizations promoting equality, inclusivity, and representation for LGBTQ+ individuals within the Democratic Party. Kristen Browde serves as Vice President of the National Federation. Also serving on the founding Board of Governors are Luis Salazar and Stephen Gaskill, past president of the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus and president of the LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus of Palm Beach County.
