This is inexplicable as well as disappointing. And it means that Cassel, like fellow turncoat Rep. Susan Valdes, can no longer be trusted by voters of either party.”

Rep. Hillary Cassel joined Rep. Susan Valdes in jumping from the Democratic to the Republican Party, after having been re-elected last month as Democrats. Both representatives sought and won the endorsement of the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus as well as our local chapters, the Hillsborough County LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus and the Dolphin Democrats in Broward County.
